CA Human Services

CA Human Services located in Richmond, VA, started with a frustrated but visionary group of parents of children with autism to bridge the service gaps their families faced. They provide direct support and services for people with autism and developmental disabilities, and also work to improve the systems that serve them. They have partnered with inclusive preschools to provide a full-day program for children ages two to six in early childhood centers throughout Virginia. This program is licensed by the Virginia Department of Social Services and provides individualized intervention in a preschool setting. Their adult programs include a readiness program that supports young adults who live at home with a parent or a supportive party, who have the capacity and want to live independently. They also offer a residential program that offers traditional housing for those interested in developing life skills necessary to live on their own and a community support program for those living independently but still need a little support.
